Rather it intercepts CB1 and reduces the negative effects like anxiety, short term memory loss, and distorted cognition that THC has on it. CBD also can boost the production of endocannabinoids as it obstructs the enzymes that dissolve the component.

Various animal studies have shown that CBD not only has an influence on cannabinoid receptors but other receptors of the brain such as opioid, dopamine, and serotonin receptors. It may have a direct influence on these receptors and may help in reducing pain, anxiety, depression, and withdrawal symptoms.

But all these conjectures are not based on extensive human trials. This field requires more researches.
